List of weekend Getaways Near Bangalore
Here is the list of Weekend Getaways around Bangalore (less than 150km from Bangalore):
I was the most un-easy bum of the group who would not settle for a boring weekend without a ride/drive late saturday night/friday night.
I covered all directions around Bangalore covering all major highways namely the Old madras Road , Hosur Road , Hyderabad Highway ,Mysore Road and the Tumkur road.
Best highway to hit is the Mysore road with plenty of options to visit.
List of places i visited on mysore road:
1) Sholay hills (Ramanagara)
2)Shivanasamudra water falls
3)Manchinbelle Dam
4)The Big Banyan Tree
5)Savanadurga Hill
6)Rasta Cafe
7)GRIPS go karting
8)Innovative Film City
Best part is the N.I.C.E road which starts from multiple locations in Bangalore( Electronic city , Banerghatta road) and the beauty of this road can be enjoyed in the early morning hours when the rising sun plays with the colors in the sky. Riding a bike can be the best thing or just Take out body out of the car and enjoy sitting on the car window with head upwards. :)
List of places i visited on the Hosur Road:
1)Hogenekkal Water falls
2)Yercaud hill station
3)Pearl valley( a very small water fall worth visiting only after heavy rainy season)
4)Mettur Dam/Stanley reservoir.
List of places i visited on the Hyderabad Highway
I can say this is the best highway i have ever ridden my bike on. !!\m/
Four lane highway till the Hyderbad for about 591km with fly-overs over the villages and towns.Mining fields, sun flower fields...Just Amazing. ! It took me just 8 hours to reach Hyderabad on bike from Bangalore.
1)Nandi Hills
2)Skandagiri hills
List of places i visited on the Old Madras Road:
1) Anthargange caves near Kolar.
2)The cafe coffee day near before Kolar.
List of places i visited on the Tumkur Road:
1)Devarayanadurga hills (DD hills) near Tumkur
2)Mahinder and Pyare Dhaba opposite to Coffe day just before Tumkur :)
